NEW SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS THE DIFFERENCE ‘LIFE CHANGING’ HEARING PRACTITIONERS ARE MAKING

Had great service from your Audiologist, this is one way to say thank-you

by Rayovac

With around one-in-six people in the UK suffering from some form of hearing loss, more and more of us are relying on specialist hearing care professionals – also known as audiologists – to provide treatment for our hearing needs.

In a recent UK survey of hard-of-hearing patients, conducted by leading hearing aid battery manufacturer, Rayovac, three quarters of respondents said the treatment they had received had improved their lives or the lives of their families, but more than one in three didn’t know how to properly say thank you to their hearing care professionals for the difference they’d made.

Respondents said the treatment delivered by their audiologist had helped to improve their relationships with their families, given them back their confidence and even allowed them to go back to work. Around eight in 10 people also said they would recommend their audiologist to their family and friends.

Now patients can give back to their audiologist on an international stage by nominating them for a prestigious industry award.

Paula Brinson-Pyke, Marketing Director at Rayovac, said: “We’ve been working with the hearing care industry for almost 80 years so we know just how much of a difference audiologists can make to a person with hearing loss. That’s why we launched the Audiologist of the Year competition, to allow patients across Europe to give thanks to those hearing practitioners who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure they get the best care possible.”

Audiologist of the Year invites patients to nominate their audiologist by sharing their hearing care experience. Not only will the winning audiologist be recognised and rewarded for their hard work in front of their, the person who submitted the winning nomination will also not be forgotten as they will also receive a cash prize and a bundle of electrical goods worth almost £200.

Entry is free and can be completed on-line at www.audiologistoftheyear.co.uk, deadline for entries is 10th July 2015.

One winner from each country will be announced in September, before these 10 country champions go head to head to battle it out for the title of European Audiologist of the Year. The European winner is crowned at a prestigious ‘Evening of Excellence’ as part of an all-expenses paid trip to Germany in October.

Paula continued: “Every year we hear from countless people who have received exceptional care from their audiologist but just didn’t know the best way to really say, ‘thank you’.

“Audiologist of the Year is the perfect way for patients to give something back to their hearing doctor, ensuring they get the recognition they deserve for their care and dedication. If you haven’t done so yet, now is the time to share your hearing story.”
